  1. Yes, it's true

  2. Winky Wright before he fought Felix Trinadad he had his family and Friends bet a lagre amout of money that he would win . I know it dosent answer you question but i thought it was a cool story. LOL

  3. Of course you can't because you could bet on yourself to lose the fight and throw it and win big money. Same goes for all sports and betting. Called conflict of interest.

  4. lloyd honeyghan bet a lot of money on himself (at great odds) to beat donald curry in '86.

  5. i think bernard hopkins bet on himself to win when he fought felix trinidad. i think he won an additional 225,000 along with his earnings.

  6. legally as far as the athletic commissions and sanctioning bodies are concerned you cannot place any wager against yourself nor can the promoter place any wager on either fighter. conflict of intrest. even though I have heard of some fighters having a "friend" place a bet aginst them, just to even the odds

  7. Yes you are allowed to bet on yourself, although i have never heard of a boxer bet on his opponent, maybe that right there would cause some eyebrows to be raised but to answer your question, yes you are allowed to bet on yourself, there have been many fighters who have done it, it's also a very common thing for the lower paid fighters.
