What is that crazy pastor saying about the Gustav and RNC convention?

Is religion just another tool of discrimination by choice for the crazy religious people?

  1. Yes, it is true.  Oops! I guess the rain will disturb the RNC instead.

  2. Perhaps it was just more of the work of the Devil?

So what if some crazy pastor said that.

I know of a crazy pastor who Said, "G-d D*mn America"

Seem B.O. knows him even more!

  3. Far Left Micheal Moore is hoping for the hurricane to do a lot of destruction to upset the GOP convention.

There are crazy people on each side, don't ya think!!!

  4. It's also true a crazy pastor wants God to da*n America!  That crazy pastor is a close personal friend of Barak Obama.

  5. It was James Dobson who asked his followers to pray for rain to ruin Obama's acceptance speech.

  6. I am a religious person, but I quit church because of pressure to vote republican by the church.   Believe me or not it is true, this is just one reason of why I quit.

  7. Yes. Some far Right pastor actually asked his congregation to pray for rain to ruin Obama's speech at the convention. What kind of Christian is that?

  8. God really dropped the ball on that one.. With the hurricane wrecking Mccains convention and the lightning strike cutting off Mccain's mic during the Republican debates.. I think GOD may be telling us something.. hahaha.. j/k.. That's what I'd say if I were a nutjob anyways.

  9. Crazy religious people mess up politics for both parties, fortunately enough most Americans have tuned them out. Don't worry about it.

  10. I am like Shelly...I just quit church because of the religious right forcing me to vote republican.  It is sad about how certain churches are serving the religious right instead of God.

  11. So what. How would this be any different (though admittedly less dramatic) than the wishes by Democrats that something would happen (even death) to any of the Republican party - especially Cheney and Bush.

So a pastor, using his personal opinions as a fellow American human (likely stepping outside of his commitment to forgiveness and the true acts of faith and philosophical teachings of Christ) committed what most people do anyway as people.

Ironically, it only takes a hypocrite to call judgement on the acts of chosen opposition while dismissing the same for the side of chosen preference.

So, no - "religion" as you are framing the question is not a tool of discrimination any more than the abuse of intolerance by people of any group set against another group -even if a group justifies the ends by claiming that they are injusticed by the mere existence of another group (racism, politics, religion, anti-religion, economics, etc).

Just as some idiots who think it's a good thing to speak down on America and burn flags is considered using free speech (far more destructive than mere wishing for rain), the Pastor as an American has every right to express his ideas and wishes. That is free speech.

Unfortunately, there are people who want to control all forms of speech that don't support thier ideals and remove those freedoms for some unless it conforms to the things like a communist government idea called "the fairness doctrine".

Since religion truthfully, historically and legally includes all forms of ideas that brings people and groups together whether theological or not, then perhaps we could say "yes" because it wouldn't be limited to just those of spiritual religions, but of social, philosophical and political "religious" discrimination - usually justified by the members against those that are not.

Wouldn't you agree? Or could there be discrimation against this statement based on your beliefs? See the point?

  12. He now dismisses is it as a joke. For some it is, I am a Christian, and what I take from the Bible is that I should love everybody regardless of their faults. Also the Bible say there is no sacrifice in loving those you agree with, and the real sacrifice is in loving those who do not agree with you.
