  1. I don't believe so I read online on a budgie site that it just makes them feel like they did something wrong and they will stay away from water. I think the best solution is to let them have more alone space because budgies feel more comfortable and secure when they're alone which will probably increase their chances of mating. I know this from experience.

  2. I'm not sure about spraying them with water in summer i used 2 spray the roof of my aviary to cool them down as it was a tin roof they mostly breed in spring but they do breed all year round  just alot more in spring when i first started breeding them and didn't have any pairs i brought 2 females to every male as they have more of a chance of breeding....its abit harder if u are trying to breed 2 of the same colour or just 2 budgies

when i first started breeding them i brought 2 males...and 4 females it took about 1-2 months before they started breeding.....but u still have to buy 1 here and there just to keep the blood line different......i now have 56

    good luck

  3. Ive bred budgies for 3 years now and I dont recommend that you spray your birds with water if they are in a breeding cage. it makes the cage messy.  What i do is spay the roof of my Bird room with the hose to give the idea that it is raining outside.  it doesn't always work. but 50% of my stock fall for it.

Budgie pairs have to be in breeding condition to breed and if the pair dont do so at the same time then you'll either have to swap pairs or be really paitent until they do, It could be 3 days or 3 months.

  4. Rain fall doesn't have anything to do with budgies breeding. It is the diet that brings keets into condition. While some birds do end up breeding most parakeets need the chatter of a flock of parakeets in order to come into breeding condition. In the wild they will breed in colonies in Eucalyptus trees. There will be hundreds maybe a few thousand in a grove of trees. There are exceptions to the rule, maybe your's are it.
