I thought I heard before that scientists are baffled because atoms are suppose to burst?

Is that true or did I not read correctly?

  1. In a manner of speaking.  There is an underlying force that allows cosmological and/or quantum particles to achieve an equilibrium and thus not be torn asunder.  This force is presently outside of current scientific formulation.

Scientists know that this force exists.  They just cannot observe it at a level of detail which would lead to a formalization.
