I've heard that male feline penises are barbed. Is this true? What is the evolutionary function? WHY? Does it hurt the female?

  1. yeah they are barbed because that stimulates the female to ovulate when he is fertilizing the egg which is not released like humans...its released when she mates...and it does hurt the female a little as she will often cry out when he is in there and yeah...afterward the male doesn't need to run away but he will move aside to allow the female some room and then she starts rolling all around and then it starts all over again several times a day until hes done and she can

  2. Their penises are barbed just like their tongues.  Cats are induced ovulators, which means they don't release eggs until they've bred.  The trauma caused by the barbed p***s causes the female to ovulate AFTER the male has left his sperm, which means a cat will get pregnant nearly every time.  That's why cats reproduce faster than rabbits.  And I'm sure it does hurt, ever hear cat s*x?  Breeders have to make sure their tom cats can run from the female after the deed, because sometimes she'll be pissed.

  3. yes it true the barbs are there to insure that the female gets pregnant.  And yes it can be painful for the female.
