Is it true about the passaports?

Is it true that you have to have a pasaport by the end of this year if you want to go to Mexico Or either you won't be able to go or your stuck there even if your an american citizen?

You must have a passport NOW to FLY to and from Mexico.  You will not need  passport to travel to and from Mexico by LAND or SEA until summer of 2008.  See website below and read the top half of the page.  The deadline was previously set for Jan., but has been delayed until summer 2008.

Yes, you must have a passport by January 1, 2008. What's the hold up? The information about that requiement has been released by the US Department of State all year. This question, sorry, has become tiresome.

you are never going to get "stuck" out of your own country.  natural disaster or loss of papers may delay the process, but you will never be turned away from your home.  in some cases, it might even result in a delay of a few days, but you'll never be "locked out" of the US. :)
