Is it true about there being a Friends movie?

I've heard rumours and gossip about there being a Friends movie... but is it true or not? The site www.friendsthemovie.com just goes back to warner bro's, so doesn't that mean they are making the site or something? Also would it have the original cast (Courtney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Le Blanc and Jeniffer Anniston) in it? I really hope there is a movie, I love Friends!

  1. I was reading about this the other week. One of the cast (I think it was David Schwimmer) was asked if he thinks there will be a Friends film. His answer was 'ask me in another ten years'. I don't think there is anything being planned for the time being.

  2. 1st answer says it all

  3. no there isn't going to be a friends movie and the cast and WB are saying that there never will be as there isn't really a suitable plot that they could up with.

  4. There is no Friends movie, despite what other posters here are telling you, and there probably won't ever be one. Warner Bros. (which probably bought the friendsthemovie.com domain name just to keep anyone else from using it) is constantly debunking rumors that this movie will be made (including several rumors this summer; see link below). Given the varying state of the six stars' current careers (from very busy to where-are-they-now) and the huge salaries they would demand for a reunion, the likelihood of getting these six back together on a soundstage anytime soon is pretty small.

  5. Yes :)

  6. Word that a Friends film is in development spread after Warner bought friendsthemovie.com.

Right now there has been nothing shot, no screenplay green-lit and there is definitely no release date.  But following the surprising success of the s*x In The City movie, it makes sense Warner will try very hard to get the Friends cast together for a silver screen reunion.

  7. Well, i believe it is, they've already signed the contract, and i think they're ready to go! Aparently it took a bit of persuading for jeenifer anniston to join, but hopefully thats all cleared up!

Hope this helps, and i love friends too!

  8. It was reported on July 2, 2008 that a movie could be made within the next 18 months due to the success of the s*x and the City movie. Although some reports claim the main cast are eager to reprise their roles for the movie, further comments from Warner Brothers have denied any plans for a feature film. Additionally, publicists for Courtney Cox Arquette and Matthew Perry have denied rumors of a potential film. Lisa Kasteler, a spokesperson for Perry, stated, "Nothing is happening in this regard, so the rumor is false."
