  1. Yeah you better keep all meds under lock and key trust me....Lol J/k.

I had a Baskilicas and he killed his self my running into things and not eating....

    And their related to Iguana's

  2. Any animal can end its own life. Sometimes animals can get depressed and refuse to eat or drink and kill themselves that way.

  3. Never heard of this- most of these poor babies die from lack of knowledge about how to care for them.  Many times by the time they are brought into a vet who sees exotics- it can be too late to bring these guys back around.

  4. Stress.

Any reptile can die of stress. Now the Iguana may be able to play dead to avoid predators, but I don't think it could commit suicide.

  5. An Iguana can not kill itself. It can become stressed, depressed, unhappy, and decide not to eat anymore, but there isn't an on off switch in their body.

As long as you take care of your Iguana, and it gets enough exercise daily, and fresh food and water, and pleanty of affection, he/she should be fine.

What an Iguana CAN do is drop its tail out of defense, and there have been cases where an Iguana has done that and passed away from it. Though, in most cases, the tail just grows back either black or crown colored.

An Iguana does not, and can not look at suicide as an option. It is only a human concept.

    Hope that answers yous question!!
