  1. nope we arent we have plenty because its not crowed

  2. We have plenty of food!

Where did you heard this from?

  3. i got lots in my fridge & cubbord

  4. One way to combat the problem if it does indeed exist, is to have your own vegie patch in the back yard. Even if you have a small sunny balcony in a unit you can grow some essentials rather well in pots. Not only will you not run out of food but you will save money. And honestly it isn't all that hard to do. Not enough of us do it these days and the taste is far better than anything you can buy from the supermarket.

There are some issues with crops in Australia due to our climate and the growing of them in pretty much desert areas. A good deal of Asian countries are running out of rice and we can not produce enough of it. Demand is higher than supply.

Obviously though, no one has told us that as we have edged our way to the top of the fattest nation list above America which is as black a day as when our literacy status fell. Will we end up as bad as America with that too?

  5. I think it would take a long time of hardships across the entire world before we started running out of food.  I would like to say though that the first answer makes a good point... why do we pay millions of dollars to entertainers, when farmers and nurses (who are essential to the survival of the human race) are barely getting by?

  6. Not that i know of!!

Th main issue is that fact that all the prices are increasing to a stupid extent, making the weekly grocery shopping less affordable

  7. LOL that's the funniest thing I've heard this week.

Hey, haven't you heard, Australia is now the FATTEST nation - beating the yanks .. so no, plenty of food around here !

  8. I don't think that Australia will have that food shortage coz it's not a crowded country. Most likely, the supply/resources are enough to sustain the needs of it's people.

  9. there are some crops that have been reduced due to the drought and the fact that we're not *meant* to be growing them in the areas we are trying to grow them in,

    specifically RICE.

Rice was grown on a large scale in the Riverina in NSW but the farmers have not been allowed the irrigation water quota as they once had been and the area is not one that accomodates the growing of rice naturally. Hence a reduction in the amount now being  grown

The amount of rice we export has been greatly reduced...

BUT WE are far from running out of food....

  10. Hon, the whole world is running out of food.  With the yearly population increase, and the relatively low profit and high input cost of farming, the number of providers is decreasing.  We - the entire world - need to reorganize our thinking about what is important and irreplaceable.

  11. There's no way Australia is running out of food. We have a rich country with more than enough food for everyone. We export rice, wheat, other grains, fruit, vegetables and heaps of other stuff to the rest of the world and the only food we import is stuff that's out of season here and a few  manufactured things that we choose not to make here.

  12. Well this is the first I have heard of it

  13. if we ever do weve always got food running around the place, roos, emus, goannas, theres plenty here and we are much better off than the countries that are dependant on  rice. Australia is a very rich place..I cant beleive theres such shotages in so many other places,,its just bloody makes me think How come?

  14. We have plenty of food the problem is with the price rises in  housing, petrol and food  some people are running out of money before they get to the supermarket.

  15. No, Australia is not running out of food. Australia is a major food exporter and our food exports are growing, not declining.
