  1. Depends on the car. Some cars it will run the odometer backwards. Some cars it won't move. If you have a digital display then 100% for sure it will not run backwards.


  2. watching too much Ferris Bueller, huh?  no.   the only way that you won't put miles on a car is to put it on a trailer and tow it.

  3. This is one of the oldest fallacies in the book. Don't get me wrong, it may have worked on a Model A Ford or something but thats way before your scope of automobile engineering.Not that the statement was meant to be a put down,just the truth. However in the case of most drivers there is probably a choice morsel hiding among the moldy loaves of urban myth. If I were a millionaire and offered 100,000 people free fuel for a week as long as they drove backwards all the way to work...well, let's just say it'd be one helluva traffic jam. On a good note, the ride home for everyone else would be slicker'n goose grease.
