  1. Many Buddhist Shaolin Monks are proficient in Shaolin Temple Boxing, the ancestor of most forms of Kung Fu, Wushu, and Chinese Boxing. The Olympic Committee asked a number of Chinese Shaolin Monks to compete in Kung Fu in the 2008 Olympics in China, but they refused stating that what they do is for self defense only.

  2. [sighs] no.

  3. the monk in your neighborhood probably does not know martial arts; even if he did, odds are he's not going to kick someone's butt for teasing him

the are orders of chinese monks who practice martial arts as part of their spiritual practice, but a more important aspect of their practice is to never harm another person

anyone can learn to beat up someone who teases them; it's much harder to learn to accept and love that person

  4. Shaolin monks study- go figure- Shaolin Kung Fu.

  5. Some do most do not !

  6. Lol. You're really hoping he is, aren't you.

  7. yes they do know martial arts, but they mostly practice on recieving strikes and blows with out feeling any pain. but there practices include balacing there bodies on a spear to regular hand to hand combat breaking metal objects with there head's. and smashing bricks and stones with a punch. but they will always try to avoid a confronation as bad as it gets.

  8. Some Buddhist monks are martial artists (kung-fu), but most monks are not.  Christian monks are not martial artists.

  9. Depends on the monk I would reckon, because they are all individuals.
