  1. False.Change is not always good.

  2. Seeds if Ideas even if they are Old can not be a liability as It is within self to use these ideas in present times !  Present can take directions from Past and form the Future . But Compulsively following an idea whose time is gone will result in not so great outcome !

  3. Please don't resolve this question soon; I would like to give an elaborate answer but don't have that much time right now. After 2-3 days, hopefully, I shall have that time.

    Edit:

First of all, I would like to thank the questioner for keeping the question open and waiting for my answer.

I would like to look at this question from a slightly different angle. What is meant by "old fashioned"? If a person has got a thought process which is dissimilar to that of the mass of the contemporary society but similar to thought process of previous generations then those ideas of the person are usually termed as "old fashioned". Again, this is relativistic. There are certain customs and practices which were not only prevalent in the society of previous generations but also a prevalent tradition in some sections of the contemporary society. If a person follows such customs then to one portion of the society, his ideas are old fashioned but to the other it is not.

Next, let us see what liability means. In a simple language, in Accountancy liability of a person(s) and/or business is defined as an obligation of that person(s) and/or business to the(all its) creditor(s) i.e. to whom he(they) and/or the business owes something which has got monetary value. Talking in a simpler way, a business cannot grow (a person cannot progress in life), freely, without clearing its debts. So these debts i.e. the liabilities are hindrance towards implementing new changes.

In our thought process, if we have any ideas, ideals and principles to which we have committed ourselves, it is extremely difficult to come out of that mind set and accept something which violates those. Once you overcome the threshold and cross the of these psychological  barriers, you have accepted the change. But, it is very true that welcoming and accepting anything against our ideas and ideals, which we have followed for a long time, is indeed difficult.

  4. If that is true, what happens when the idea, "old ideas are our biggest liability" itself becomes old?
