I am a british and I did sponser my wife and my daughter from abroad to the UK and they are given two years visa, on the visa is wriiten NO RECOURSE TO THE PUBLIC FUND. They have live in this country nearly two years. My wife she has birth another child in the UK. unfortunatly Now we are going to be homeless and I went to the council and apply for housing. The homeless person unit is saying "if you are going to apply for housing, it means we will inform the home office and they won't give extension on your wife and daughter visa. I am telling them of course on the visa is written DO NOT HELP THEM but help me and my son, we are eligiable, She (HPU) is saying no either take the visa or the house. I can't afford to pay rent a private house and If I lose my wife and my daughter then what should I do with their house. I don't know what should I do? Please advice me or if your a lawyer then If you can please write a letter that I can take to the council.

  1. what !?

  2. Looks like your plan to use a british birth to stay in the UK and sponge off us hardworking tax payers backfired. time to start making a living like the rest of us and paying your way.

  3. You should either move to her country or have her get a job and stop trying to figure out how to leech off of the British government.

  4.    I do not know how the British system works, but here are my suggestions.  One, have them show you where it is written that they can't help you.  If it is law, then they have to have a copy of it.  Two, what nationality is your wife and her daughter?  Does she not gain British citizenship by marrying a British citizen?  If not, have you applied for an extension on her visas?  If not an extension, then apply for another visa.  The fact that she has a minor child in your country should grant her the visa.  Three, get housing assistance.  At least you are looking out for your son.  You won't be able to help your wife and her daughter if you don't have a roof over your head.

  5. Go to the nearest Citizens Advice Bureau for free advice, or go see any solicitor - most solicitors will give you half an hour of advice for about £25

  7. Okay

Firstly you need expert help with this. Go to your local citizens advice who will assist free of charge

This is very complex, you don't mention where your wife is from or how long she has been in the UK, this affects any decision.

Making a claim to benefit when restricted can leadto being deported so get advice before doing anything

If you are British you can claim child Benefit for all your children as it is not restricted where one member of the family is a EEA national.
