Question:

Is it true...??

My son beat me today on the last game of Downball/four square.

But I was wondering:

They say "you're only as good as your last game!"

So does this mean I am 'a loser' at this sport even though in general I have not lost a match in the past 2 years??

... and if this famous saying is true:

Where would we place the greatest sportsman of this known era: 'Donald Bradman' - who averaged, in cricket, almost 100 runs with the bat per inning, as in his very last inning, he was out for 'a Duck' - no runs at all??!!

If a player was only as good as his last run, Donalsd Bradman would have to be classified as amongst the worst batsmen in history!!!!!!!??

  1. The saying is not true as your son would have you believe.  He had a good round and finally won a match.

Remind him of another saying....."even a blind hog finds an acorn every once in awhile".  =)

  2. Look at it from another angle.  If you were complete trash for your whole life, then have one lucky round and retire, does that make you a good golfer?

  3. Yeah, you're toast, hang it up.

  4. lol i think this saying is load of bull.  cause if people were only as good as there last game no1 would ever get better at what they do.
