  1. interesting point you know, socio, your lookingg at all the differences amongst ethnic groups, gender, social class etc right, adn even the key theories such as marxism and functionalism and even max weber looks at differneces, its all about it .. wow, hmm made me think lol

so yeah if differences didnt exist, it would be a pretty boring subject, e.g. underclass would be the same as working class, middle class, upper Hmpf yeah right, but yeah hmm.. i dunno, interesting question

  2. I'm sorry but that statement is impossible to believe.

We are all different.  Our perception of reality is so different between groups of humans, because we can only really believe our own perception.

For example, if you were born in the floods of China or the swamps of the subsaharan countries of Africa, your perception of reality, would be totally different to those of us lucky enough to be born in the U.K., U.S.A. or the rest of the western world.

Hopefully there will always be studies in sociology to help us understand that we are so lucky.

  3. You should define what you mean by differences. To have a completely homogeneous society where there was absolutely no difference from one person to another would require every single person to be a clone, incapable of developing a separate personality. But then you would still end up with people having different knowledge bases from being assigned different jobs. Having people with different sets of experiences means that some pattern at one time or another will deviate from the "norm" and you would STILL have something for a sociologist to work with.

If you just mean that the major cultural differences do not exist, then there are still plenty of micro-level things to study. Actually, it would be pretty interesting to wonder how we would identify ourselves if not by race. Would hair and eye color become more important? Or maybe it would be scent?

No, sociologists will ALWAYS find something to study!
