Question:

Is it true that 10 is the average age to start braces these days? How does this compare to 10 or 20 years ago?

even 30 years ago? When did the trend of starting braces young start? Are there ever situations where it's best to wait until the child is a teenager and all their teeth are in before they get braces?

  2. idk but I just got mine on and im a teenager not a 10 yr old.

  3. it is easier to get your teeth moved a few years later then wen they come in rather then once they are settled for bout 10-14 years

  4. I'm 42 now and got them the first time the last day of 4th grade.  I *think* that was around 10 years old......but maybe it was 8 or 9.  Too long ago, I don't remember.

No one else had them until high school.  Granted I lived in a small town, but still.  I think it was rather uncommon.

    Not a clue about now.

The advantage of getting them young is that at least I didn't have to go through puberty with them.  The disadvantage was that I was the only one with them.
