  1. Yes. Liberia and Myanmar (Burma) are the only other countries that haven't officially metricated.


  2. The proponents of the metric system love this fact.  It's technically true, only 2 small countries haven't "officially" switched to metric.  

    However in reality, US measures are widely used around the world for certain purposes.  Roads in the UK still use miles and mph, for example.  Airplane altitudes are given in feet all over the world, home areas are given in square feet in most Commonwealth countries, etc.  The people who want us to switch to metric will make you think that there are only 3 countries that use our measurements, but that's simply not true in reality.
