Is it true that Bakersfield,CA is NOT doing curb recycling?

Is it true that the city of Bakersfield,CA (pop 300000) is NOT recycling? Please tell me it's not true

Here in Los Angeles (pop 3M) people do the 3 trashcans (black - trash, green - leaves, blue - recyclables) which really reduces the envt fooprint of the large city

this just shows how ignorant a lot of people are, maybe those slagging this person off should keep all there rubbish at their house and see how long it would for them to want to do something about it.

if they are not recycling there then something needs to change, that's just plain stupid

We sort of have curb side recycling.  If you want to PAY for it, you can get a blue can.  They are talking about starting mandatory curb side for everyone, but we will have to pay for it.  I'm not willing to pay to have my cans picked up when I can MAKE money on them by taking them 1/2 a mile down the road to the recycling center.  There are all sorts of "issues" with the plan the city is trying to impalement.  The main one being that they are trying to make as much money a possible off of my CRV money.
