Is it true that Deuterium, also called heavy hydrogen could be the substitute for fossil fuel?

I have read an article that it could be the next source of energy after the fossil fuels are exhausted. It has plenty of deposits in the Philippine Deep that is why it was said in the article that the Philippines could be a rich country if it is tapped.

  1. If it can be burned, an engine can be made to burn it in order to power a mode of transportation. A horse burns hay and produces methane but we do not use them much anymore.


  2. No we are just going to use regular hydrogen atoms . Will be out on the market in 2008

  3. We`will not need it for hundreds of years yet. By then technology will have us moving in a completely different way. We wont need it.
