Is it true that Drill Seargents really do hit girls in the army, like the men?

it sounds absolutly horrible that they would do that, but do they? like, are they even aloud?

They can't hit anyone, and haven't been able to for years. They will get right up in your face and yell, and have lots of good PT for the maggots to perform.

Drill Instructors aren't allowed to hit or even touch anyone anymore.

  The army, for decades has not exercised maltreatment on recruits.  It is doubtful they ever did on female recruits, other than sexual encounters.

The Marine Corps is quite another story !  I can attest to regular @ss kickins as late as early 1957.  How long after that it continued, is hard to say.

I might add, my encounters in Marine Corps boot camp occurred two years after the McKuen case in Parris Island !

In the modern era Drill Sergeants cannot and do not hit anyone, men or women (no longer girls or boys).

In this day and age they are not supposed to, men or women, unless it is  part of the training ( hand to hand). I do not think you are talking about that. When I was in the army in the late 70's, some did, to protect themselves. I believe that a good slap can do wonders to put a person back in line. It must immediately be followed by possitive reinforcement. A soldier is training to be a warrior, not a boy scout. You must never strike a person you are training unless it is a vital part of the lesson you are teaching them, and always use maximum restraint, just enough to prove the point.

I am pretty sure the drill Sargent do not hit the women in the army. I'm sure it's against the rules.

mikea109 - The Marine Corps no longer hits recruits either.  I believe they stopped that in the 80's, though every now and then a Drill Instructor thinks he can get away with it.  The consequences are severe if they are caught.

That is totally false!!!  A DS can get kicked off the trail if he so even lets the brim of his Brown Round touch the forehead of a Soldier!  

My supervisor was a former DS at Leonard Wood and she has seen it happen!

It is not permissible for a drill sergeant to hit any trainee. That went out many many years ago.

It is against Regulations to strike another member of the service, DI will get into major problems if they are doing this and can be proved. SO NO they do not hit, the US military has become a nicer more gentle place to the detriment of the military = War is h**l so why shouldn't the training be h**l.
