  1. No that just a rumor that got blown out of proportion.

The story is traced back to one man in the capital AD was talking to his friend in a nightclub saying if I just scream bomb everybody will be running... or something  like that as a joke. Two British guys heard him and reported to their embassy.

We are living here, and the country is not on alert. I mean everything is normal, and there is no panic in the air.

The United Arab Emirates is safe and will always remain safe, or else it wouldn't be crowded with people who are coming in everyday!

  2. Yes, on June 17th, the UK Government has issued a 'Red Alert' to those living or holidaying in Dubai I'm afraid.

This is due to them finding out that there is a considerable terrorist threat, very likely to have come from al-Qaeda.

Travel advice posted by the Foreign Office on its website states: "There is a high threat of terrorism. We believe terrorists may be planning to carry out attacks in the UAE. Attacks could be indiscriminate and could happen at any time, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers, such as residential compounds, military, oil, transport and aviation interests."

Britons living in the Emirates were advised to "maintain a high level of security awareness, particularly in public places" but the FCO has not advised Britons not to travel out.

No other western embassies in the UAE have heightened their warnings.

  3. Dubai is the safest place in the world
