Question:

Is it true that Honda made a bad batch of car batteries?

As I have been trying to find information of my car troubles I read that many people have seemed to have problems with Dealership batteries. I bought my car used but took it to replace battery thinking it was covered under the extended warranty. It wasn't. I got a new battery from the dealership anyway as I was stranded out there. Did they put a faulty battery in my car?

  1. Honda don't make batteries, they buy them in. Like all car makers and garages in fact.

  2. Honda makes cars, not batteries.

Since you bought a new one, your better off cos now it's covered under the maker's wrty.

  3. I had a new "dealer" battery (honda labeled) installed in my certified used Honda several years ago.  It actually EXPLODED!  It must have been overfilled and stranded my wife. She thought a gun had been fired nearby.  Upon opening the hood, there was plastic and battery acid everywhere.  I mentioned this to Honda via e-mail and they seemed totally appathic to the risk this presented.  I replaced it with a costco battery and it has been fine since.

  4. Probably not who cares it just a batttery which is very minor.

  5. honda doesnt make batteries, dont blame them , they get them from santa

  6. "honda" is very renowned brand in industry.

i not think that what u r saying that is correct.

  7. Honda does not make any batteries. Any battery will fail in time, on average they last 3-5 years, seen some fail in less than 2 years others last 7+ years. Heat and severe vibration shortens the battery life, as does overcharging, such as in a faulty charging system. Or letting a battery discharge completely.
