Is it true that I can travel to Northen Ireland and take train to Dublin since i have no Irish visa?

I m travelling to UK, and would love to visit Ireland, but I need visa to entre , I have been advised that I can travel to northen Ireland and take a train from there to go to Dublin, is this possible?

  1. depends on what country you are from?if you require a visa to visit Northern Ireland i.e. a visa to visit the UK ... that visa should be valid in the Republic .. but again it depends on where you are from


  2. I don't know where you are from, but once you are in a country, be it Northern or Southern Ireland, you should be able to move around within it with no problem.  I am American and we do not need  a "VISA". We just need passports.  

    You are probably from Austrailia or someplace that might require extra documentation.

Before traveling from the US, be sure to check out the requirements for passports and visas at travel.state.gov.  There is no visa required for American citizens to travel up to 90 days in Ireland.  There is a link on my website (under the extras tab) to passports and visas, which is to a business that expedites passport and visa applications.

  4. Yes, because there is no border control of any kind between Northern Ireland and the rest of Ireland.
