Is it true that Italians eat cat meat?

Is it true that Italians eat cat meat?

 In time of war all countries probably eat cats and dogs, if the other option could be "starving to death".

But in Italy as well as all Europe nobody eats cats and dogs, they are loved, and spoiled  as family pets. 

I wonder where you got that silly idea! I happen to live in Italy and cat and dog meat are never on the menu!
