Is it true that KFC is getting a vegetarian "chicken" sandwich?? I heard it was coming for the fall! :D

As of right now, it is currently only available in Canada. Kentucky Fried Chicken officals from their U.S. Headquarters stated in a recent news conference, that they are looking into it and may have the Vegetarian 'Chicken' Sandwich out for sale in local KFC locations by 2010. If anything new comes out about this topic. I will contact you to let you know. Also I do agree that it would be a great change, but I don't know if vegetarians would go for it because of KFC's charges of animal cruelity and abuse.

The Vegan Unchicken Sandwich in Canadian KFCs are not even vegetarian.  They use mayonnaise on their buns (not vegan) and they deep fry the unchicken in the same oil as the real chicken.  It's really too bad,  they can't even get one thing right.  There's no need to give money to this establishment.

Yes, in Canada KFC will offer a vegan "chicken" sandwich.

I don't imagine alot of veg*ns will be clamouring to get into KFC to enjoy it, though... regardless of what you buy there (vegan or no), your money is still supporting animal cruelty.

Smart move.

Get free publicity from vegetarian activists then make them feel that they have won and feel good about themselves by charging $5.00 for a sandwich containing a few cents worth of most likely soybeans and veggies.

wonder if PETA activists would protest outside a branch then go in and eat there for lunch??

It's supposed to be available in canada but even if it was available here..I wouldn't go to KFC and support them.

Yes it is true. They probably won't make too much money since there aren't reallhy too many vegetarians.  But it would be funny that traditional vegetarian companies and groups would now have KFC as a competitor for vegetarian money.

first, i have to ask why are you a vegetarian? if it is at all related to a compassion for animals, then do not eat at KFC at all... even if they are selling a vegetarian product, you are supporting their animal killing efforts when you pay them. For more information see this website...
