  2. Jarabe Tapatio is a folk dance performed around a large ranchero hat (similar in size to that of Mariachi).  The dance is around it, not on it.  Also during the dance, dancers (typically a man and a woman) can make a bow with a large ribbon, using their feet only.

  4. Don't know and I'm half Mexican : (   that's OK I don't speak Spanish either guess I'm in the "other kind" of Mexican category

  6. The local Baja Mexican cowboys have very expensive hats and would'nt ever dance on them. There's a hat dance performed  for tourists where the dancers step around it, not on it.
