Is it true that Microsoft will get rid of your computer virus for free? ?

If so what's the number? Also if you know of any others that would be wonderful.

No, they will not remove viruses for free. Microsoft sells software, they are not a fully qualified hardware help. I would recommend installing and running AVG Antivirus or Avast as they are both free and will get rid of your viruses for you.

You can run Microsoft's on-line virus scan for free but you still need to have a virus protection program running on your computer. So if you have a different anti virus program and want to check if you may have a virus it has missed you run the on-line scan from Microsoft.

Microsoft's on-line virus scan is called one care live safety scan.

Note after you run Microsoft's online scan they will ask you if you would like to buy it but you do not have to. It will still clean your computer for free and can be done as often as you like.
