Nikon, in my opion, is a much better camera. Even though, Nikon is a little more expensive that Canon, it is sooooo worth it. It seems like every photo I take with my Nikon camera comes out with everything looking like a professional took an extremly lucky shot. Plus, in the commerical...I mean Ashton Kutcher...*drooling* Ashhhtoooonnn Kutctttchhher... mmmmhmmmmmm!! ;D

  2. Canon is said to have better sensors. If it's true, I'd then say Canon is better because you can always change the lens, you'll never replace the sensor.

  3. Idk but i know that pictures sure look alot better. Havent done the research to say it is "better" but it "looks" like it "could" be better lol

  4. I've had dozens of cameras, I find that Canons are a lot better.

  5. This is a matter of opinion. Different photographers will find different cameras better for different things. I believe that Canon is a bit better for sports, having generally slightly faster cameras, but I have always preferred Nikons for image quality. I feel that, on average, they produce higher-quality images, and I like the Nikon line of lenses a lot better. Again, this is just preference. I have seen good and bad images produced with both. Both companies have also had good and bad cameras. A CANON rep at a press conference in 2001 said that Nikon's F5 (introduced in 1996) was the best camera in the world. I  had a Nikon point-and-shoot that was not bad, but I liked my sister's similar Canon a lot better.

Both companies will constantly be introducing new cameras, and you'll find, eventually, which ones you like. It's preference.

  6. Yes, but for smaller/everyday cameras I prefer Canon.

  7. i personally use Nikon

  8. I use canon, That’s because I started with a canon film camera and when I went digital I stayed with canon because I think both are very good cameras and I had several canon lenses by that time. Now I use a canon XTI with a Tamron lenses   28-300mm   a very good all around lenses.

Canon and Nikon  are  both very good camears

  9. I don't know much about cameras, but to be honest, you will probably get some people say Nikon is better than Canon or visa versa, but personally, your question is like asking which is better between apples and oranges.

You should be a little bit more specific as to what it is that you are comparing such as the picture quality, etc. so that you get a little bit more of a specific or detailed answer.

  10. Generally speaking, no.  They are both equivalent in overall quality.

  11. I like canon better, but each have their pros and cons.

  12. No

First of all, you need to realize that there are many, many different companies out there that all have there own commercials, their own big thing that they say they’re best at, and they are all competing against each other to get consumers like you to buy one of their products. The trick is finding out which one REALLY is the best. There is no sure way of doing this except by doing your own research, like I did. In my opinion the best digital SLRs (or any camera, for that matter) are made by Canon. Nikon also makes very good SLRs, but not quite as well as Canon. Nikon was not started with the aim of making high quality cameras; it was started with the aim of making various lenses for pretty much everything. Then, like all big companies, they expanded their product line to include cameras. This is true about pretty much all manufactures. Canon, like most manufactures, started up in business to make cameras. They have expanded their product line to include basically all “imaging” products available, everything from your basic all-in-one printers to the most advanced x-ray machines in the world. They do all of this very well, but they still make cameras better than anything else in their product line. So if I were to buy a camera of any kind, I’d get a Canon. If I needed a pair of binoculars, I’d probably buy them from Nikon, and if I needed a printer I’d buy one from Lexmark.

  13. At this point in the answers,  looks like Canon is winning LOL.  But you see that it is simply a matter of opinion.  Some people shoot and love Nikon, and some love Canon.   I am on the fence here because my daughter and I have both at the moment: Nikon digital and film as well as Canon digital and film.   When you use one or the other,  you just have to put to use the special features they have.   Our Canon is a full frame... the Nikon a 12MP.   Both take great pictures..  Both operate smoothly and efficiently.    So to answer your question Nikon is a great camera.  Canon is a great camera.   I see photographers use Canon cameras on National Geographic Specials.   I see actors use Nikon cameras on CSI.   I think they are both GREAT cameras>  :))

  14. i like the newest canon xs dslr camera very much

  15. Nikon lenses have a better reputation.

  16. Bottom line

At the Top Nikon has the edge over every camera maker out there with the D3. The D3 is the best DLSR made to date. Every pro that uses one says that. The Mark III Ds is 8 grand and the D3 is only 5grand with better performance. It's not an opinion it's just a fact that the D3 outperforms the Canon.  So from this perspective Nikon is the leader.

    Enjoy

  17. I perfer cannon

  18. Depends on the exact model

Nikon has the better reputation overall but Canon has some cameras that can beat similar Nikon models anyday

  19. It really comes down to personal preference. My preference is Canon although I've liked the quality of the image with the Nikon's I've had in the past.

For most people who started out with the 35mm SLR's and moved to Digital SLR's, it makes common sense to stick with the same brand or pony up for a new set of lenses.
