  1. No. I believe it may have been St. Augustine, when it was a Spanish colony. Orlando's claim to fame is Disney World and was just a swamp before that.

    St. Augustine was not the "official" capital, but it was the first city conquered by Juan Ponce de Leon which was Spaniard from Spain, he was governor of Puerto Rico, Hispanola which is Dominican Republic and Florida. Then when the white man took over and Florida became an official state of the USA. Tallahasee is named the capital of Florida in the 1800's
