  1. I don't think that it would take an act of Parliament to do that, I think Charles would have to give up his right, like Edward VIII did when he abdicated.  I have no doubt that the queen would think William would be better received by the people, but she more than anyone plays by the rules and would so in this case and let the succession happen naturally.

  2. It's not the Queen's decision who the throne will pass to. For William to inherit either:

    a. Charles would have to die before his mother

    OR

    b. Charles would have to renounce his right to the throne

    OR

    c. Parliament would pass a new law saying the Monarch could nominate any of her descendants to inherit the throne

Neither of the latter two will happen as Charles has been training for the job since childhood and Parliament would see no need to waste time on something that most people are not that bothered about (Parliamentary time is at a premium).

  3. I have no idea but i would vote for that!!!

  4. No.

Charles is the Prince of Wales, her heir.

By the way, to alter the succession would take an act of Parliament, which would never pass.

  5. No.  Charles is first in line.  He'd have to s***w up a lot more than he already has, to make his Mama decide to do that.

  6. No. It is only a rumor and that will never happen. Charles is drooling waiting to become king, and the queen will never as well as can not turn the throne over to William. I hope the queen lives a very very long life so that charles won't rein till he's 80. Then the beautiful William,so like his mom will become king.

  7. No - The queen can not pass the throne to anyone.   The heir is decided by law.   This law sets out how the throne will pass from one monarch to another and who is eligible and ineligible to be on the list of heirs.   It may only be changed by an Act of Parliament.

This act must be passed in all the countries of which she is queen - each parliament has a veto and all must accept the decision of any to reject a change to the order of succession.

The relevant countries are Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Currently Charles is the heir to the throne of each one and only a combined act of each Parliament can deprive him of this.   This would be difficult to imagine.

Otherwise, Charles may renounce his claim.   This would make William the heir but it seems almost as difficult to imagine this happening either.

  8. It is only a rumor. There is no way for the Queen to pass the crown to someone other than Charles. He is her heir, and unless he dies, or abdicates in favor of William, nothing short of an Act or Parliament would prevent Charles from becoming King.  The right of succession is very clearly spelled out. It passes from Sovereign to the eldest child (preference given to male children) of the eldest child and so on.

  9. No, unfortunately Prince Charles is next in line. She may adore Prince William more than anyone but Prince Charles is designated to be king. However, unless Prince Charles did something that would have removed him from the line of succession, or he decides to abdicate, or passed away, it is highly unreasonable and irrational for the Queen to remove Prince Charles and replace him with Prince William.

I would love to see Prince William as the next king and let Prince Charles retire with Camilla, but I don't make the rules and neither does the Queen (she only follows the laws and regulations set by her predecessors).

  10. No, but Charles will probably die sooner.

    It won't make a difference.

Good ol' William will be our next king.
