Is it true that Robert Mugabe has a knighthood?

Is this true? I have heard so - if so who gave it to him and why?

He has an honorary knighthood. He was nominated for the honor and it passed through the Honors Commission several years ago--before it became apparent that he does not deserve the honor. Then Prime-Minister John Major made Mugabe an honorary Knight COmmander of the Order of Bath in 1994,when Mugabe was considered a hero of the anti-colonial movement.There is a concentrated effort to strip him of the honorary title.

I didn't know he had an honourary knighthood, I do know he's a rig, he has only one t******e, But more important why is Brown refusing to strip him? They stripped Archer for being a liar, they stripped lester for tax evasion, but NO! its quite alright chappie to be a murderer, butcher, certainly as bad as Saddam Hussein on a crimes against humanity basis, But you want "US" the british Govt to actually "DO" something about it, actually you know, we are pretty content they way we have managed to get rid of an embarrassing situation for us pre-Mugabe days

Yes, it was given to him during the time of John Major's government.

It is, however, honorary.

Mugabe was given an honourary knighthood by the Queen at the behest of the Tory goverment in 1994. He was sold fighter jets in the same year - coincidence?

He has a honourary knighthood, not sure why, but, there are plans to strip the nutter of it very soon.
