If so,

What were the details?

Was this one of the debate issues with Al Gore?

  1. Very famous debate on the eve of the passage of NAFTA, I believe it was October of 1993...Ross Perot debated Al Gore on Larry King Live....what's so ironic is that yes he was right and yes he won the debate on the substance...but Al Gore was considered the winner (mostly based on style) and the debate dealt a blow to Ross Perot's reputation (whatever he may had left after losing the 1992 presidential bid)...at least among educated circles...

One of the big fallacies of Gore was in he said not passing NAFTA would be akin to the protection of the Smoot Hawley ACt of the late 1920s , which help bring about the Great Depression, or so he claimed....problem with his claim was that the NAFTA was protectionist in crucial aspects as well

  2. The Giant Sucking Sound was the catch phrase of the presidential election, coined by Ross to describe the sound of American jobs being moved to Mexico.

  3. Yes publicly in a debate with Al Gore.
