  1. A pogrom. Strictly speaking England never had one either. Certain people would encourage actions against the Jewish people, usually because they owed them money. But there never was a strict, state sponsored programme.

  2. As far as I can recall from my history studies, there were no pogroms against the Jews in any of the GB countries, altho there were numerous incidents of cruelty, humiliation, and worse carried out against Jewish communities and individuals. There were anti-Jewish laws enacted as well. So altho there was no full pogrom there was plenty of examples of prejudice

    Hope that helps

  3. It is true that TODAY a lot of scots have pogroms against chatholics

  4. There was no pogrom in England as such but anti-Jewish feeling ran very high in the Middle Ages. There was the dreadful massacre at Clifford's Tower in York, for example. Edward I expelled all the Jews and they were not allowed back in until the time of Cromwell.

  5. That is true about England.

Scotland never had a large number of Jews,

  6. There was no pogrom in Ireland.

  7. There has never been Pogrom against Jews in Ireland or England but there has been Anti-Jewish clashes at one time or another, there was an incident in the city of Limerick in Ireland known as the Limerick Pogrom, where actions of an intolerent Priest Fr John Creagh started a campaign against Jews in the city, the Jewish population then moved to Cork to wait for passenger liners to take them to America, but where made so welcome by the People of Cork that most of them stayed. One of the sons of the jewish migration Gerald Goldberg even became Lord Mayor of Cork. In England there was Anti-Jewish feeling at the time of the Palestine conflict when two British army Sargents where captured and hanged by the Irgun, riots then occured in certain parts of the country with synagogue's and Jewish businesses being burned. This also happened in parts of Scotland with Synagogue's being burned in Glasgow.

  8. I truly hope not, but I live in Wales and you didn't mention here.
