Yes, it's true. As with many fish, Tilapias are scavengers. Same with Catfish and Milkfish ( bangus ). While Tilapia and Bangus are farm raised , and are fed milled grains ( ie. "darak" ) and stale bread , they commonly thrive in unclean water. They actually help the environment by eating waste products.

doesn't matter what they eat, if it's catch alive only means it's still living healthy. same us with all other living things. as long as it keeps you alive and healthy means you are living good.
