Is it true that Yahoo is deleting groups because all members do not fill their profile in completely?

Some people on some of the groups I belong to are panicking Alot of my large groups I won do not have profiles done and I don't care. Groups are to large to ask all to post private info on a web site. Can't say I blame them. Please if this is false, owners and mods, calm down.

This absolutely is not true!  It's just another one of those rumors that start up once in a while.  :-)

profiles are optional- yahoo keeps track of ages through the account, not profile.

and besides what I already wrote, wouldn't it make more sense to delete the persons account with the blank profile than a whole group, of which some may have a filled out profile?

someone often writes up a hoax, claim they work for Yahoo in Sunnyvale and it becomes a chain and everyone forwards the hoax to every group out there, people fill out their profiles for nothing, and the original hoaxer is giggling.
