  1. Don't think they are

  2. Not quite elephant weight, a Blue Whale's tongue weighs 2200-3000 kg. This is about the weight of a bull rhino or hippo.

  3. Yes, because a Blue Whale itself weighs >199 tons, while an Elephant itself weighs <26,001 pounds.

    1 ton=2,000 pounds

    1 pound=16 ounces

    1 ounce= http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/o... & http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ounce

  4. No.  The tongue of a blue whale weighs about 3 tons.  Adult elephants weigh 6 tons on average, with the record at 12 tons.

  5. No, I find that hard to believe. Nooooope.

  6. Well a quick search on the web says a blue whale weighs between 320,000 and 380,000 pounds (hard to weigh something that large).  A male african (asian elephants are smaller) elephant weighs 10,000.  So I would say it's certainly possible.  The Natural History Museum in London has a blue whale skeleton and the skull must be 25 feet long.  If the tongue is assumed to have the same dimensions as ours (about the length of the jaw plus slightly down the throat) I would say it is almost certain.

  7. Blue whale's dung is quite massive.
