Is it true that a cockroach can live for 3 months without a head?

Is there any experts out there who can just tell me the facts on this one. It will settle an argement once and for all. Thank you in advance

  1. No. they can only live without a head for about a month.

  2. Y heard it from a tour in Natural History Museum. Because it's movement part of the brain isn;t actually in its head, amazing!

  3. Yes! - They can survive that long without heads

    And if you stand on them, they die, their babies live; hence why you never stand on them on holiday because they hatch in warm condition i.e. your suitcase

    + THEY WOULD BE THE ONLY ANIMAL TO SURVIVE A NUCLEAR WAR.

    No idea how I found that out ;P

  4. No it's not true they can survive three months although they can survive a few weeks after decapitation.

  5. Since nuclear war is absurd, cockroaches dying by borax

    most efficiently.

    Just to do a nuclear war for oversized roaches and bugs would be foolish.

    The remnants of such things would develop radiation weapons to kill the still surviving humans after nuclear war.
