  1. I have 2 females and they are fine.  Introduce them slowly and they will be best of buds.  A lot of times an older female will take the kitten in and play a motherly role.

    Good Luck!

  2. A kittens s*x doesn't usually determine how they will get along with each other.

I usually find male/male pairs get on better and there has been some research undertaken which supports this.

I currently have four female adult cats who have all been introduced at different times. The important thing is to know your current cats personality and match it with that of another cat.

I would also say that adult cats sometimes do not get on well with a young animal playing in the house and may prefer a calmer adult but again this is all to do with the individual cats!

  3. My cat was 4 years old when we got our male kitten, but it doesn't make a difference at all. it depends on the older cat's personality and instincts. My cat still attacked the male kitten several times. (good thing she was declawed or else that kitten would need a new face) So in other words it doesn' t matter what gender the kitten is.

  4. Cats are more likely to have territory issues when they are the same s*x.  It doesn't generally happen with spayed/neutered cats, but it can.  Getting a cat of the opposite s*x is always safest.

  5. i have a male cat now, and he doesn't like other male.  but, i've also had two females before, and they got along fine.  i guess it depends on the cats personality.
