Is it true that a glass will break if it hits the bottom of a pool?

Someone told me that if you have a glass in your pool and it hits the bottom it will just break. Is that true?

No, not true.  Unless the pool doesn't have any water in it.

Glass will just sink till it reaches the bottom of the pool. Unless there's no liquid in the pool, then the glass will be pulled down by gravity and shatter once it hits the bottom of the pool.
