Is it true that actress Jane Russell & actress Marilyn Monroe were rivals??

That Jane Russell was ravenously jealous of the late Marilyn Monroe's flawess complexion(she did not need any/hardly any make-up).

No, they were not. Marilyn adored Jane and she was one of the main reasons Marilyn was able to get through the filming of 'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes'. Jane affectionately called her 'Blondie' and would help her out of her dressing room when she was too nervous and frightened to go on. Marilyn even attended a biblical meeting with Jane after the shooting of GPB ended because they got along so well. Marilyn said of Jane "She is one of the sweetest persons I have ever met", and Jane has also spoken kindly of MM. There is a gorgeous sketch Jane drew of Marilyn on the set of GPB that I've seen online too. Jane once said that on the night of Marilyn's death she had a tremendous urge to phone her but never did.

All in all, they got along well :)

Yes just like Paris and Lindsey...they used the outrageous to steal the spotlight and both Jayne Mansfield and Marilyn were blonde bombshells grasping any movie they could get their claws on and both died suddenly and at an early age before they got old and ugly  Jane Russell had big b***s but she was a better actress but she didn't die of dubious causes

No, I read that Jane was a mentor to Marilyn while they were working on a movie Jane taught Marilyn some tricks of the trade, but I'm sure there was some rivalry, that's just how us girls act.
