well, half black anyway. my friend runs a shop in georgia. there are a lot of african americans there. she was telling me that almost everyone one of them that come into the shop asks her if she is voting for obama. when she says no, they say "oh, you're not voting for him just because he's black!!" she says, "no, i'm not voting for him because i am a republican and am voting for mccain." then, she will ask them what reasons they are voting for obama, every one of them says "because he is for change" when she asks what change, they all say, "i don't know, just change."

most african americans have no idea why they are voting for him save the fact that he is half black, that is it. boy, if that's not racist, i don't know what is.

what do african americans think he is going to do? is it the free ride they want?

  1. No. Did you see how many black people were at the R.N.C?? Please, let us not insult the black folks of this country. All people regardless of skin color can make bad choices. Not just Black folks. Sheesh.

  2. Black Americans have voted for the Dem candidate

  3. I'm voting for him because he's a Democrat, and he won the nomination.

  4. Is it true that women are voting for Palin because she has XX chromosomes?

  5. People are going to vote for him because of the issues. Education, clean energy, college help, getting out of Iraq, equal pay, health care and many more. You can go to www.barackobama.com and read what he has to say on all of the issues. I am white and voted republican last time, but McCain is not predictable, he is hot headed, a womanizer and even has beaten the defenseless according to the speech make at the convention by the actor. McCain has been involved in the Savings and Loan scandal and was heavily reprimanded by his fellow peers. There was not enough evidence to do more than that, but he did have many business dealings with Keating, a Savings and Loan owner. McCain is more of the same and we can't afford more of the same. I am voting for Obama because of the issues and I hope everyone will do the same.

  6. no it simply isn't. just like people aren't going to vote for palin just be/c she's a woman........or at least intelligent people aren't.......

  7. It is sad but it is partially true. I think that is how most people vote. Majority of the people in this country are white and they will not vote for him simply because he is "black". Just as many black people will vote for him because he is black. And just as many women will vote for McCain/Palin because Palin is a female. People just form these sub concious associations and decide they like someone because why? because they are just like them. I think it is ridiculous. A friend of mine suggested that as part of registering to vote people should get schooled on the candidate's issues and make sure that they UNDERSTAND who they are voted for. It's sad that many people vote one way because that's the way the "wind" blows.

  8. You are speaking in generalities. Some blacks will vote for Obama simply because he is black. Some whites will vote McCain because he is not black.

I hope I speak for the majority when I say the following: People will vote for the candidate they believe will do the best job for the country.

    McCain for President

  9. There is safety in numbers...a kind of mob mentality.

  10. Really?

You get all your facts and statistics from "my friend tells me"?

"most african americans have no idea why they are voting for him."

"is it the free ride they want?"

umm. no, that doesnt sound too racist....

  11. yes and they will vote him out once they can find a full black person that can read and doesn't sound like buckwheat at the podium.

  12. You can't really say that because most blacks vote democrat anyway, as do most other minorities.  But I think they are much more passionate about the election this time and a lot more are coming out to vote this time due to the fact that he's black.
