Every year I would need a new prescription since my nearsightendess would get worse, but the doc told me that with the IOL it shouldn't get worse anymore. Is anyone living proof of this? Was my natural lens to blame in my nearsightedness getting worse every year and now that its gone I have nothing to worry about?

  1. It depends on what was causing you to get more nearsighted.  I suspect that the cataract that was forming was the cause of you becoming more nearsighted and thus, removing it should stop you from becoming any more nearsighted.

  2. No!  The rest of the eye comtinues to deteroriate with age and orther reasons.  Cataract surgery simply changes the lens as you know.
