Is it true that all living things on Earth will be dead on December 21, 2012?

Someone said to me that in December 21, 2012 there will be Huge planet called Planet X that will hit our Earth and all living thing things will be dead.

I searched the google about this and I found evidences. I asked my friends and classmates about this but they know nothing about this.

I'm worried in that day, do you think that really, really that the human race will be gone in 2012? Can you give some opinions about this?

  1. Oh for petes sake NO one really knows and why worry about it !!

  2. Planet X or Niburu isn't real. 2012 is not the end of the world. There is no reason to say that year is anything special. One of my contacts has offered to bet everyone he sees ask this question $1000 that the world won't end in 2012. No one bets with him on here. The stuff about the Mayan calendar is ignorant, and it has nothing to do with Planet X anyhow. You found "balle" (BS in Italian) on Googol, not real evidence.

  3. Its pure fiction.there is no truth to this.Your safe

  4. Must have been a very short search...

Now do a search on Yahoo!Answers for 2012 and you will get about 8000 topics with 99% of the answers saying no.

  5. don't just believe on anyone

    nothin's gonna happen trust me.................

  6. it is based on the superstition that the mayan calendar holds secret prophecies. there is something in us that is constantly looking for and fearing the end of the world. we have been doing this for thousands of years and we probably always will. that is the only real information in this weird rumor.

  7. it amazes me just what people will believe!!

  8. Oh dear...not this AGAIN.

Ok...Life will continues as normal. Theres 0, NADA chance that the world will end. Theres 0 proof that it exists, and 100% proof that this is a made up crock of s--t.

There is no planet X, its just so utterly impossible, that you would have a better chance of meeting Jesus, Budda, Mohammad and Zeus at your local police station than dying from planet X or whatever else is claimed to kill us in 2012. Dont belive it. Check the evidence for yourself! There is NOTHING. lol.

  9. There is no Planet X, so it can't hit Earth. Where should it be hiding, under your bed?

Observatories scan the whole sky for small objects - way smaller and twice as far away from Earth, as Planet X is rumored to be.

And if you used google and found evidence for this, I am surprised. I also used google and found no evidence, only circular argumentation and repetitions of the same lie. The only evidence is that, a object with the predicted attributes in trajectory and size does not exist.

Anybody else planning to play chicken little today?

  10. Get right with God and everything will be ok no matter what.

  11. well, they lied to you

  12. Thats what they said in 2000, and look where we are?

Noone can predict these things. Do not listen to anyone because noone except God knows when this is going to happen.

  13. Someone lied to you.

There is no "evidence" anywhere, especially not on google.

The only "planet X" in our solar system is well beyond Pluto, it is on an orbit that does not bring it close to Earth (otherwise, we would already see disruptions in the Kuiper belt).

The Big 2012 Hoax Off seems to be a contest about who can come up with the biggest end-of-the-world lie.

    ---

No Mayan calendar ends on that day.  None.  Zero.

A Mayan day-count calendar reaches a round figure on that day (or the 23rd) and moves on to the next "long count".

This is the same as when our own calendar "ended" on December 31, 1999.

  14. No, this is a complete myth, don't listen to crazy's who tell you this will happen.

  15. Nothing spectacular will happen in 2012 (unless you count the Olympics in London).

It is just a myth which mysteriously propagates (mostly because of the History Channel and YouTube)

The interpretation of the Mayan calendar thing is just plain wrong – it’s just the end of a cycle. And since calendars are based on astronomical motions of one kind or another, they are inherently cyclic. Our western calendar ends on December 31st every year!

Planet X/Nibiru does not exist. If it did we would have found it by now. We have mapped the sky in the infrared several times in the last 25 years (including WMAP, IRAS etc), and it would show up. It is not there. We would have found it if it existed. So all the nonsense about the return of Nibiru/Planet X is just that – nonsense

There is no scientific evidence for the existence of Nibiru

Furthermore, at the distance it must be to hit us in a little over 4 years, it would be reflecting enough light from the sun to be detectable.

Thanx to previous question from Brant and answer from bikenbeer2000, we know how bright it should be by now – it would have a apparent magnitude of 7.4 – which would not be visible with the naked eye – but easily visible in a modest telescope and would have been spotted by amateur. If there was a conspiracy to keep it quiet – it would be out of the bag by now.

Ask someone where it is supposed to be, get a pair of binoculars and look for it.

Furthermore, it is supposed to be in orbit around a brown dwarf. We have detected brown dwarfs at much larger distances than the alleged distance of the sun’s mythical brown dwarf companion, so why haven’t we seen this “star:?

The videos on YouTube that purport to have evidence are disingenuous to say the least. They put together pictures of other objects (e.g. Jupiter, comets even a dust shell around a distant red giant star) and try to scare people. There is no validity to their claims. They present NO EVIDENCE at all.

As for the predicted catastrophes – the most popular one seems to be the Pole Shift!

The sun will have a pole reversal that year – it has one every 11 years – it is not a problem.

The earth’s magnetic field is less predictable –

but is still nothing to worry about: we know that the magnetic field does not collapse in the process of reversing polarity- if it did, there would be major extinctions that correlate with the geologic record for pole reversals - there is no correlation.

Now let’s tackle the “Galactic Alignment”

Here’s a nice site that explains what it means, and explains that is does not happen on December 21st 2012:  http://alignment2012.com/whatisGA.htm

Also see the wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galactic_Al...

which tells you that the precise alignment of the solstice with the Galactic equator was in 1998. It did not cause problems. The Galactic Equator is purely a human construct – not a physical thing. And we do not get any closer to the black hole in the center, which remains approximately 8000 parsecs (26,000 light years) away.

And by the way - ignore "stardustspex" - he/she.it is just my own personal troll - they'll go away soon...

  16. Who knows when the world is going to end, but there's no sense in worrying about it. We're all going to die sooner or later. Why spend the time you do have worrying?

  17. thats rubbish

  18. this is not true at all, if you like learning about the universe check out this link:

    http://www.thestargarden.co.uk/contents....

  19. No. It's a crazy rumor that no one should believe in. Don't worry; only one of the Mayan calendars would end at that date.

  20. PLS HOW DO U KNOW?where is planet X an why doesn't it have a name?,Do u trust ur friends? Are u really worried?Do u think something like that will hit the earth?

Then stop asking!!! I don't think so.

  21. People just love silly rumors.

  22. Probably not.

Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

For more information, about what Catholics believe about the end of the world, see: http://www.americancatholic.org/Newslett...

    With love in Christ.

  23. Look  It really depends on who you talk to.  It's not something that has been "scientifically" proven, but there is no evidence to support that this won't happen.  It is one of those things that you can look at one side and say "wow, the mayan calender runs out on december 21st (or 23rd depending on how you translate it) 2012.  That must mean the world ends then." Or it could be that the guy making the calender had a stroke at that point and failed to finish it, or he could have wanted to come back and finish it later.  You just don't know.

If it is gonna happen, so?  What can we do about it?  Nothing.  It's probably good to live in the fear that it will happen, because that way you will make sure you live your life to the fullest.  So that even if it doesn't happen you will have had an awesome 4 years.

Also, i don't think it is that planet x will hit us.  It has something to do with galactic alignment or something like that.

  24. Scientists don't expect anything out of the ordinary to happen in the year 2012, or specifically on the date December 21, other than the solstice, which happens every year.

None of the "predicted" happenings for 2012 hold up under close scrutiny. "Planet X" and "Nibiru" simply don't exist. The Mayan calendar ends a cycle, but there were no predictions of the end of the world. The Sun doesn't line up with the galactic centre; it's 6 degrees off. No asteroids or comets are actually predicted to hit Earth.

All of this stuff was put together by crackpots in order to promote their books and TV shows, and shamelessly promoted by the History Channel. Don't take any of it seriously!

  25. 2012 is a bunch of false information given off by a pathetic "documentary" repeatedly aired on the history channel, and on the infamous youtube. None of it is true, so don't bother worrying about it.

There are 2 things I'm looking forward to in 2012: Venus' transit on June 7th, and the simple satisfaction of knowing that somewhere, a doomsday nut feels a little bad in side.

I have yet to hear a convincing theory on the world ending in 2012. I find it hard that people endorse it seeing as there isn't a shred of scientific evidence behind the ideas.

No self respecting scientist would ever endorse this sort of idea... again, because there is no scientific evidence of everything coming to an end.

If a brown dwarf was on a collision course to the Earth and was going to hit by 2012, we would see it. A brown dwarf has a mass between a large gas giant and 80 Jupiter masses. How could we miss that?

I did the math, and it would defy all laws of planetary motion for this planet to speed up and hit Earth.

Planetary alignment isn't going to happen. Its impossible for every planet to be aligned seeing as they orbit on different planes. They will never be completely aligned.

And seeing as the Mayans NEVER predicted the end of the world, I'm not sure why people still think it will end. Their calendar ended, which apparently caused a large amount of idiots to say that the world will end.

The sun will not explode... be patient, the sun will wipe out Earth by swelling to the size of a red giant in 5 billion years. Guess what? 5 billion years is not equal to 4 years!

I found out that there has been at least one doomsday date set every year since 1986... yet we're all still here! Sometimes there was more than one!

Given this, history does NOT have a good track record when it comes to doomsday predictions. Mayans didn't have any special powers.

Nostradamus is like astrology... clever writing that can be interpreted to say anything.

Aliens will never visit Earth, so why in 2012?

I guess there's a movie coming out now. Guess the history channel is going into Hollywood!

The world will not end in 2012. Period. No scientific evidence, much less any scientific proof. So why believe in it?

  26. this is from NASA:

    http://astrobiology.nasa.gov/ask-an-astr...

press ctrl-F, type "Nibiru", enter, you will see the truth

    the 2012 Doomsday is 99.(9)% a hoax,

because i believe in NASA's answer about astrology 99.(9)%

and they say NO, let you decide

    ^_^ have a nice day!!!

    note:the closest near-earth-object in 2012 is

Eros, which will pass by at distance of 16 million miles

must be a joker to believe it may even change

the wind direction in the earth's atmosphere

  27. I'm sure if you checked the sources that said this was true, they would have no scientific merit.  It is SO important to not just trust any web site.  Be an educated and CRITICAL web surfer.  Remember, anyone can make a web site.   I could make one that says I'm God and other people could site it even though it's obviously not true.

  28. Is-a peepul gon' DIE, Anni?

Relax, Nothing is going to happen.  A whole planet cannot approach within four years without being detected!

You ever see the water effect on a hot highway?  Where in the distance there seems to be water on the road surface?  But as you approach it seems to fade away?  This is due to the relatively smooth surface of the road and the effect of heat waves on the light.  Now, if this is apparent with just a little bit of road surface how do you think this would show up on a WHOLE planet?  It would shine like a star!

Jupiter is a gas giant made up of mostly hydrogen and helium but it is the brightest object in the sky right now.  Now if a planet that does not even have a solid surface can shine like that what do you think would happen with "Planet X"?

Do everyone a favor and don't fall for this c**p.  There are other more important (and more real) things to be concerned about other than a fictitious planet from the 'ether'!  Please let everyone you know that is falling for this that it is a load of c**p.

BTW searching google in no way constitutes evidence!

  29. Hey, it's possible. It's also possible that a giant pancake will fly out of nowhere and crush us in 45.39302 seconds.

Sounds VERY hoaxish to me - 12/21/12? All 1s and 2s? It would be SO much more believable if the world was going to "end"  on a random date like 4/7/12.

  30. i don't think you have anything to worry about i know the world was supposed to end like 9/10 years ago when a meteor was supposed to collide with earth and we are still here.

on the other hand if it is gonna happen at least we all die together.

  31. not again.....
