  1. Absolutely not. They have a greater chance of it, but not all are.

Edit: Tulip, ferrets don't have blue eyes. White ferrets either have black or red eyes.

  2. Animals that are white particular with blue eye have a greater chance of being deaf! but no not all animals that are white with blue eyes are deaf. I think alot of people mistaken blue eyed white animals being blind.

Don't think there any link between white & blue eye being blind.

  3. No way.  Although albino ferrets, and any animal for that matter, do have a greater chance for health defichansies.  I really dont know how to spell that so sorry.

  4. No.

Some very few may be, but the vast majority have no problems with hearing or seeing. As much as a ferret CAN see, they only see clearly for about 3', after that things get blurry to them.

  5. Ferrets with a white head, or a white stripe on their head, are more likely than others to be deaf due to a genetic disorder called Warrenburg Syndrome. This doesn't mean that they are *all* deaf. It just means that they are more likely to be deaf. Ferrets don't rely as much on sight or sound as we humans do. They mostly go by smell. So having a blind or deaf ferret doesn't take much adjustment over having a ferret who isnt blind or deaf. Taz, my Dark-Eyed White was deaf, and was the sweatest ferret I ever had. He only nipped me once, the day after I got him. Let's just say that I learned not to sleep naked when he was loose. lol.
