  1. I think it depends how good a car battery you get and your weather conditions.  Ours last around 5 years.

  2. They can last up to 10 years. mine is 8 years old right now and I live in100 deg summers and -20 deg winters at the extremes.

  3. No, their expected life depends on how they are treated, their quality in manufacturer and luck.

  4. no..most battery's last 4 years...very few go early...some last 5/6 if in mild climates...heat is the big battery killer  and below 0 f temps

  5. NO.

I replaced one earlier this year that was original in my 1994 Ford.

  6. I agree with the others.  The batteries of both a car I bought new in 94 and service truck at work in 95 each lasted over 5 years.  But the replacement batteries I got seemed to average about 3 years (in northern Illinois).

It depends on the quality and capacity of the battery and whether it gets discharged frequently, like forgetting to turn off lights (even just an interior light).  Car batteries are made for cranking amps, not deep discharge.

  7. on a new car, they should last 5+ years

  8. No.  It depends on your battery and the conditions.  I've seen 5-year car batteries.

  9. i replaced my dads battery last spring  it was still working  but a little weak  i didn't want him to brake down  it was 11 1/2 years old  interstate mega-tron 34    that is one good battery

  10. I dont think so.... I have had the same one in my 4-runner for 8 years now, they keep telling me at walmart it needs replacing but I get my freind at work to check it he sez its fine

  11. I believe a car battery in most vehicle last for about 31/2 years ,then they start to get weak and thats when you need to go ahead and buy a new battery before it burns the starter up.

  12. The average life of a car battery is about 4 years. But battery's are just like anything else, you can get a lemon in any think. A volt meter on the battery showing 13.5 volts or better means the alt. is putting out. And if you're not leaving anything on and it isn't starting properly than you new a new battery.

  13. No true, if you take care of them, they will last for years at least 5 to ten years.

  14. that,s not true at all. i have a duralast battery in my car now and it,s at least 5 yrs. old and still has good starting power.
