  1. yipes.  indeed the greatest cowardice may be the inability to care deeply for someone, anyone or anything.  I fear that I may be that coward.  If you can " try "  to not care about something, then you already don't care enough.

  2. Trying to avoid war (for example) is not cowardice. One is not a coward for not wanting such things.

I don't see how we can "try" not to care about something. You either care about it or you don't. Perhaps one doesn't know one would care about X, but with a proper introduction learns that she or he does care. But how can you willing not care about something you care about? That's a contradiction.

  3. I am not sure how cowardice work, but i have no time for them,I have been let down to many times in the past.

  4. cowardice also includes trying to ignore something or a sitution, pretend its not happening because you can't face the sitution or handle it properly. I think this form is more common than running away from the situation

  5. Most of the time when we choose fear over courage, when we choose flight rather than fight, when we stick our heads in the sand like and ostrich, we are cowardly.  The few exceptions are those where discretion is the better part of valor.

  6. Have you heard the song from Kenny Rogers "Coward of the county"?

The answer is false. It depends on what was your past experiences that you have seen, heard or face encountering each situation's and condition's.

  7. ...I agree with this...if one is in denial, it can quickly become like an old worn out pair of shoes that takes away from a desire to have a much needed new pair

  8. Confucius say :-

“To see the right and not to do it is cowardice.”

  9. Absolutely right. Given all the wars, turmoil and discrimination in the world, my one SINGLE anxiety is the growing AMORALITY of the ruling elites everywhere. Nobody is willing to take a stand, the sense of right and wrong (which were once universal absolutes) is disappearing; and we are all becoming moral cowards, cowering behind comfort zones, being politically correct, and making relativism a way of life.

  10. Avoiding something is self-preservation, if we attacked everything head on the world would be a bigger battlefield than it already is. Time changes everything, conflict for conflicts sake is futile. Some people thrive on conflict, it makes them feel alive. I'd say to them, go bungie jumping, at the very least you can only hurt yourself.

I know people who care deeply for others but cannot help them personally without it affecting themselves, so they try to be supportive from a distance.

  11. cowards do indeed hide as well as run away.

  12. To co ward is to go with. Cowardice is to follow the wrong and the ruthless, to fear the demands of conscience. It is a kind of incompetence that presumes guilt in the other saying 'it is wrong' making self equal in guilt to all others and thereby feeling adequate, goes forth. Even a God may be thought guilty of the same sin, but then in a God that sin is justified and you know all Gods are cowards to their own will. Power and love can not be expressed at the same time.
