Actually, dogs are less likely to get struck then Humans because they are closer to the ground.  But there is still a chance a dog may get hit, but most likely it would be indirectly.  Like if it was standing under a tree or something

Since dogs are not as tall as a human; I'd say the person would be a lightning rod before the canine.
