  1. my mom said that her mom (my grandma) always came over with beer when I was first born because it would bring the milk in. I think my grandma might have even came ti the hospital with some, not sure.

Its a wives tale I bet but there might be some truth to it, after all some of those old wives tale came from somewhere. Oh and it was the full strength not the NA kind.

  2. NO

  3. I have never heard that, I took a supplement called fenugreek and it worked in less than 24 hours!

  4. I doubt it. Try a Guiness or another dark beer. Just one won't hurt at all.

  5. Some older people and cultures think that a dark beer will up your production.  It is also known that alcohol can reduce your supply so not sure how a dark beer would help.

  6. Sometimes a little beer can help at the beginning of a breastfeeding session if your milk doesn't "let down" (when your milk starts flowing).  I had a colleague who said it helped her a lot, but that wasn't about producing more milk, it was only about the actual feeding time.  Hope that helps.

Just remember, the more your baby drinks, the more milk you'll produce.  Get plenty of rest, drink lots of liquids and if you're still concerned about how much milk you have, have your baby checked for weight gain.

    God bless you.

  7. I've heard that dark beer will help (like Guinness), but I haven't tried it myself.

  8. My mother in law says that when she had her kids 30-35 years ago, they actually gave you beer in the hospital to help your milk come in.  I personally think it's a bunch of hooey and your milk will come in when it comes it.
