Is it true that drinking soda will make allergies worse?

If you tend to be allergic to the sort of ingredients found in soda it might cause you problems. But otherwise, you should be okay.

Nothing feels as good on a hot day as a cold cola and I hate eating pizza without a Coke but, there are at least three things about soda can make allergies worse:

1) Sodas are acidic.  Having a low pH in your body makes allergic reactions more common and more severe.

2) Diet sodas generate nasty toxins in your body as they are digested.  Allergy symptoms are your body's way of getting rid of toxins, so adding more toxins to your body is not an effective way to get rid of allergies.

3) Pure water is the best way to flush toxins from your body.  Drinking soda when thirsty will not be as good at flushing toxins as drinking pure water.
