  1. driving anywhere uses gas. you hardly have the right to judge the motive of drivers and whether or not what they are doing is wasting it.

  2. If they live far enough away and have an existing school bus service that picks them up at the door along with all the other little kiddies in the neighbourhood, or they live close enough to walk and get a little bit of exercise and if you have to go out of your way to drive the little darlings than yes you are wasting gas

  3. Yes. They could be picked up by the school bus...unless you combine the effort with other ventures on the same day. For example, after the kids are driven to school, you strop at the local dry ;leaner and drop off that load, and nearby, at a grocery superstore, there are necessities to get for the week.

  4. Yes.  Your kids should be able to walk or bicycle to walk.  If they "can't" because it's too far or too unsafe, you made a mistake when you chose where to live.  Either fix your neighborhood so it is safe, or move to a safe neighborhood.

  5. Dont be a cheap skate. To go anywhere costs gas!

  6. Sorry to bust your bubble, but driving anywhere costs gas... :):) I think that kids should walk to school, ride their bikes, or take the school bus. The reason that America is overweight is because we are constantly driving around in our big, gas guzzling SUV's, and we have forgotten how to walk. So, in both ways, driving your kids to school wastes gas, the gas is used on driving your kids somewhere where they could get a ride otherwise, and it will contribute to global warming. So, I'd say let them take the bus, it's good for 'em.

  7. Yes, and so does public education.

  8. Yes, and it makes them fat, too.

  9. driving anywhere wastes gas lol

  10. it beats horse and buggy

  11. I grew in london England and I remember that kids would walk to school, and here all the kids are driven to school. - and here people drive all the time, even for half a mile! - thats why people have a hard itme with their weight!

  12. I walked to my elementary school.  I lived miles from my middle school and high school and took the bus.  I also knew many students that rode their bicycles to school.

The only good reasons that I can think of for driving your children to school are if the school is to far to walk, bicycling is impractical, and there are no buses available.  The next best choice would be car-pooling in order to use less gasoline.

  13. yup..

better go for a school van or get them a bicycle.. in short prefer public transport wherever possible..
